Carpools

Why carpool to bridge?  Because ride sharing is the environmental right thing to do, because we save gas, and because we find lovely people to talk about bridge as we travel.

The map, below, is a snapshot of where other players who are interested in carpooling live. Each person's address is marked with a blue pin. The green arrows mark the three primary locations (the Bridge Center, Oshman Family JCC and Unity Church) where games are held within our unit.

Viewing addresses and contact information

To protect our members' personal information you will need to create an account on our website in order to view our detailed carpool map including people's names, addresses and contact information.

Once you receive your account confirmation:

• enter your information so others can contact you for carpooling.
• view the detailed information for players who are interested in carpooling.

We also have carpool information posted on a bulletin board inside the entrance of our Bridge Center.

Public Transit

Several options exist for using public transit to get to our new Bridge Center (and temporary location located on the same site). All connect to the Mountain View Transit Center located on Evelyn Ave near the intersection of Castro St. (major cross streets are Castro St. and Central Expressway). The Transit Center is a half a mile from our Bridge Center (about an 11 minute walk).

The following public transit is available to the Mountain View Transit Center:

• Caltrain
• VTA Light Rail
• VTA Buses, currently:
  • Route 34 from San Antonio Shopping Center
  • Route 35 from Stanford Shopping Center
  • Route 51 from De Anza College, and,
  • Route 52 from Foothill College

To get to our Bridge Center from the Mountain View Transit Center:

• Take Evelyn Ave. East to Castro St.
• Turn right on Castro St. north. Cross Central expressway where Castro St. becomes Moffatt Blvd.
• Turn left at the traffic signal onto Central Ave.
• Turn right at the stop sign onto Stierlin Rd.
• Turn left into our parking lot.
