ACBL Unit 503

Intermediate / Newcomer Games

We have a lot of games and sections with games that cater to players with limited Masterpoints. Even one SWISS game.

If you're a new player, or just new to Duplicate Bridge, we think you'll enjoy the following games:

EZ Game

Less than 30 Masterpoints

The EZ Game consists of a 20 minute lesson followed by 2 1/2 hours of play.  Players who come without partners will be matched with the next available "single" player.  The director will play ONLY to fill out a table so as to avoid a sit-out.

Each session consists of a minimum of 12 hands (usually 16, but dictated by the speed of play) with awards of fractional masterpoints. Pre-dealt hands and hand records with analysis are provided. This class is a learning experience where players can request bidding help with problem hands of up to two questions per player. Meet other bridge players and enjoy free snacks and coffee.

Wednesday Afternoon 99er

Less than 100 Masterpoints

This game is ideal for new and returning bridge players and those who have played some bridge but are interested in learning to play duplicate bridge. A half-hour lesson precedes play and after the game players receive a copy of the hands that they have played with a brief analysis of each hand. You will be guaranteed a partner to play with if you do not come with your own partner.
