Our hosts, the IFES Society, are holding two events. Enjoy their hospitality and learn some of their culture by attending.
Our Lady of Fatima Dinner/Dance
Saturday, October 27
6:00pm: If you want the "total experience" of the church service and candle-lit parade around the parking lot :-)
7:45/8pm: Dinner and dance
Traditional Azorean soup, Portuguese corn bread, Roast beef dinner, wine and dessert. Everything is home made. Also, Portuguese sweet bread.
Dance with popular Portuguese dance music (not Fado).
$15 adults, $7 kids 6-12, kids under 5 free
Matanca (Pork feast) Dinner/Dance
Saturday, November 3
6:30pm: Dinner and dance
Traditional Azorean Pork dishes - Linguica sausage, blood sausage, pork rinds, pork chops, stew, beans, wine and dessert. Everything is home made from scratch according to their grandmothers' recipes. Even the linguica. Also, Portuguese sweet bread and a traditional flat bread. Not for the faint of heart or those watching their cholesterol. :-) The only vegetable in attendance will be in the traditional kale and potato soup
